The Malabar House Fort is situated on a green in the heart of Fort Cochin, on the Malabar Coast in Kerala.

Accessibility
By Air: from Delhi, Bombay, Goa, Madras, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Trivandrum and London (on Emirates Airlines, via Dubai, Kuwait airways via Kuwait, from March 03 on Qatar airways via Doha and Air Lanka via Colombo).

By Train: From Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Bangalore, Trivandrum and other towns on the Malabar Coast to Cochin and Ernakulam.

By Road: An easy drive from Trivandrum, the ‘backwaters', Thrissur, Munnar, Palghat, Kanam. A longer drive from Thekkady, Calicut, Ooty.

Transfers: The Malabar House Fort Resort is happy to arrange limousine transfers (at extra cost) from either the airport or the railway station to / from the hotel (allow up to 1 1/4 hours - 42kms - from the airport and up to 40 minutes – 12 kms - from the station)

Accommodation at Malabar House Fort Cochin comprises of 17 rooms, made up of Deluxe rooms, Roof Garden Suites and the Malabar Suite.

Malabar Suite – A very peaceful maisonette, situated towards the rear of the building, on the first floor. It comprises a sitting room downstairs and a bedroom, bathroom and private terrace upstairs.

Roof Garden Suites – Large rooms on the first floor. The Roof Garden Suites have their own terrace.

All rooms at Malabar House Fort are centrally air-conditioned with attached bathrooms.

Hairdryers are provided on request. They have tiled floors (no rugs) and are decorated superbly with stunning colour schemes and antique objets d'art. All rooms have hanging space, televisions, and direct dial telephones. No smoking rooms are available. Rooms with easy wheelchair access are available.

The Restaurant (The Malabar Junction) – A superb, open-sided restaurant in the garden. Known throughout India for its exceptional food (probably the best pasta in India!) and excellent wine cellar. It offers Mediterranean, Indian and local cuisine. When full the hotel offers a ‘buffet' service for breakfast. Other meals are from a daily market menu or a la carte. Smoking is allowed. The seafood is superb.

Room Service – 24 hours

Garden dining – meals, snacks and drinks can be served in the garden by the swimming pool.

When to go / Climate at Malabar House Fort
There are no particular seasonal weather changes in Kerala as it benefits from a tropical climate and is warm and humid all year round. No warm clothes are necessary in Cochin. It tends to rain in June and July and there can be sporadic showers in October. The best time to visit is from August to Easter. April to May gets hotter with pre monsoon showers.

The hotel provides maps of Fort Cochin which take you on a gentle stroll around the area, indicating key buildings and churches of historical value, the Chinese Fishing nets etc. This walk can be done at any time, on your own and without the services of a pre-arranged guide. However, local guides can be arranged if required.
